Consumer Advisory - Please be aware that Colonial Brass does not carry insurance on your property. They took $9000 worth of silver. The silver and silver plating were removed. They refuse to make us whole. Attached are pictures of the silver before they were going to add a protective coating and the raw steel product they returned to us via UPS. They should have. Negative star rating.

Our Liturgical Arts Service has worked with Mark for the last 12 years and they have helped us refinish items for our customers and for our own chapel. The integrity of the CB staff is exceptional and they are "miracle workers" with many of the items we have brought to them and seen in their showroom. If they make a mistake, they fix it. If they find something that needs fixing on your project, they will fix it for you. When one of our pieces was discovered to be made of several metals (after the stripped and polished it) they brass plated it to such a beautiful finish that those who have seen it were impressed and asked, "When did you get a new one?" No, it's not new, Colonial Brass just cleaned it up and made it look like new. When we asked them if they would put a link on their website to ours since they serve so many church communities, they did not hesitate to help us out.

I picked up an old copper and brass fire extinguisher on my last trip to RoundTop and I thought how cool would it be to get this restored, polished, and sealed? Would it be even cooler if it were a lamp for a desk? Hell yes! Pictures say all that you need to know. I took my little project over and they knew exactly what I needed before I did. Mark and Edward run a classic metals restoration shop. Not only are they friendly and a delight to work with, they know their business exceptionally well and are delighted to take the time to convey it to customers. For example, they don't just dip a hinge and polish it; they disassemble it, and then clean and polish the individual pieces. They know more about the precise construction of the items that their clients bring in to them than their clients do. For the Scottish clock pictured, they even silver-soldered for me the striking arm, which had snapped, rendering the chime inoperative. If you take enormous pride in the brass and silver pieces that you possess, these are the folks who can clean and polish them, providing you with a finish that is "show" condition.

The antique desk shown was built in the late 1700s. I am told that the only other one of its kind is (or was) in the White House. Removing the brass fixtures was a meticulous chore in and of itself. The escutcheons are of a thin brass, which I feared might get destroyed if placed against a polishing wheel. Mark and Edward assured me that such would not be permitted to occur. They were right! So, now we have an updated antique that will hopefully survive me by many, many years. Thanks to the expertise of CB!
